The Saber armor from the Fate series. Cool looking, comes with a nice sword. Great hues of regal blue and gold, because video game armors don't need to look bland. It protects the critical areas of the body, minus the head, but that's a game and they have to show the face after all, plus the character is a king and a crown is more fitting for the head anyway. It allows good movement and functionality, while it also keeps the otherworldly element. The armor on the arms or the sides helps on deflecting enemies' swords.
An example of a bad armor from the same series:
Tons of metal and spikes, that look absurdly edgy and dumb. While a full-plate armor offers wholesome protection, it's questionable that there's armor above armor, like that idiotic portion above the character's legs. The armor on the arms probably doesn't allow any arm movement, which is ridiculous for someone that fights with a sword (the sword is very dumb too, but that's not the point of the thread). There's a helmet on this one, but its design and functionality are so bad that it may as well not exist. Finally, it's a really terrible color scheme that makes you question if your eyes are bleeding or not.

Oh how I loathe we didn't get the capes in BBS.i still kinda like Terra armor from Kingdom Hearts

I haven't even played a Souls game before and it's Artorias. Such a fantastic design. I love capes, and tattered capes even more.Ryu Hayabusas leather ninja outfit. It just screams badass.
Artorias of The Abyss armour: Not only is it detailed and beautiful, but it also tells a story.
I really like Titania's armor from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. It's really simple, but effective in making her look like a human tank/shield.
I love its flowing red piece and how it compliments her hair. That gold/red aesthetic is so good. Very sunburst-y character.

I was going to post Saber myself, but Quru had it covered. I'll go with her Lancer form then, I love the design.

My man.I haven't even played a Souls game before and it's Artorias. Such a fantastic design. I love capes, and tattered capes even more.I really like Titania's armor from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. It's really simple, but effective in making her look like a human tank/shield.

Radiant Dawn has some of my favorite female character design in the whole series.
So basic, yet has proper protection that covers several vital, vulnerable points. The choice of red armor goes surprisingly well with her red hair and eyes, creating a fiery, stern look, but the overall design is not busy or exposing unnecessary skin just because she is a woman. The only flaw is the lack of helmet, which Nephenee gets points for using one, but what can you do. Jill is awesome in design, good character development and amazing unit gameplay wise in both games in Tellius. What a great character.

Blizzard's armor design already peaked in vanilla WoW with the Paladin Judgement armor. Pretty sure it's the most consistent fan favorite across the board too.

I've enjoyed a great deal of armor designs from Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV, actually... Across all the various jobs/classes in both games. Great art design in both games, IMO -- arguably my favorite art design in the entire FF franchise.
I tend to lean toward Paladin since that's what I played the most in both games.

Same with Ryu Hayabusa and his forehead metal thingy.

It's great.

Women's armor has the same problems with just about every armor set for women in Monster Hunter, but the Men's armor is really good. Fits the monster too (Ceadeus is an underwater monster with massive horns and bio-luminescence, so the armor looks like it's made out of ivory, has big horns of its own, and has glowy bits).
And yes, I'm specifically using the high rank armor here. G-rank is mostly the same, but the Anubis helmet doesn't appeal to me as much as the big horns on the high rank version.

All the Dead Space 2 suits were also cool as heck.

There are so many good examples from the Dark Souls games, but I'll just post my favorite three.Creighton's Set
Oh yeah, the Creighton set is great, wore is a lot!

This made me think of Isaac's suit in Dead Space. I kind of like it when the design goes into the direct opposite of sleek and is deliberately not meant to look pretty. It's great.
That is not to say that plain cool looking armor also doesn't have its appeal
(Dark Souls 2 Faraam set)

Chris in Suikoden III have a nice armor though.

Superheavy armour is just the best. Especially when it's worn by an e v i l character and paired with a magic sword. That Darth Vader aesthetic is my greatest weakness.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance / Radiant Dawn had really great designs in general. Nice to see so many others giving the games their due, too.
